Sape Wagenaar started,with his brother, with baseball in Adegeest/Voorschoten when he was 11 years old. After 6 months he was selected for the Dutch National Little League Team where he played for two years and participated in two European Championships. Than he played for the Dutch National Junior Team and the Rotterdam Unicorns. With the Unicorns (Neptunus organization) he played in two European Championships. In the following order he played for Tridents (Neptunus organization), Dutch National Junior Team and two years at Young Dutch Talented (Orange) Team. With this team Sape played European Championship, World Championship and Dutch Kingdom Games in the Antilles. In 2003 he was chosen by the Dutch National Team Coaches as MVP and became Catcher in the Rotterdam main team Neptunus. As a reward for his MVP, "Playball" Europe invited Sape for a 2 weeks baseball clinic in America. Since then he is also “Playball” instructor and in 2009, he became Staff Member of "Playball" Europe. The last 3 years he played for Sparta/Feyenoord. In daily life Sape is a teacher in physical education for a primary school.
